Prior to joining Ridgewood in 1999, Joerg Sperling held several positions at Infineon Technologies AG (formerly Siemens’ Semiconductor Group). Most recently, he served as the North American investment manager for Infineon Ventures’ $100 million fund. He invested in companies such as LightLogic (purchased by Intel), MediaQ (purchased by Nvidia). Mr. Sperling also assisted in spin outs and divestitures such as a fiber optic cable manufacturing facility and a storage R&D group.

Joerg also held positions in DRAM sales, serving customers including Compaq, Dell, Hewlett-Packard and IBM. He built the North American account team from scratch, and within 12 months had boosted sales from $20 million to $170 million. In addition, Joerg worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories in New Jersey and at the Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, specializing in the field of III/IV semiconductors.
